General Assembly\u2019s resolution, approved on Sept. 4 by a vote of 164 to 1 with six abstentions, put the U.N.\u2019s imprimatur on an African proposal to swap out the commonly used but outdated Mercator projection with the Equal Earth map, which represents more accurately the relative sizes of the countries and continents. African countries have created a campaign, dubbed #CorrectTheMap, to promote the transition.",
