Homeland Security fusion centers are monitoring anti-surveillance activists, including SparrowMap, which uses ALPR technology to track police vehicles. The government considers SparrowMap a potential threat, despite its legality and public availability. This monitoring is part of a broader trend of classifying anti-surveillance efforts as 'anti-technology extremism' or 'anti-surveillance extremism'.
